Minnesota Man From Ward to War eBook Jemkay Smith Reviews
Once I started reading Minnesota Man, I could not put the book down. I found it absorbing and fascinating that such a person could live through so much hardship and struggles and still rise above it all. The book is well written. The chapters are very short. Once you start reading, you too will find it hard to put down.
It was refreshing to read a biography about a man who grew up in the foster care system and didn't have horrific abuse stories to tell. The main character grew up in the early 1900's and I liked reading about how different the times were. He was a bit of a problem child so he had some troubles because of that. He found his niche when he got into boxing in Golden Gloves tournaments. I wish he would have developed more of a relationship with his birth mother. This book reminded me of Unbroken A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. Does anyone know if Randy Turner is still alive. He would be almost 100 if he is.
This is story about one American man's adventures. A man who stood up to life's challenges. It's also a great read!
I read this book all at once because I found it so interesting. It's easy to want to find out how a young boy survived everything life threw at him. It's the story of resilience. Once I started reading about Randy I wanted to find out what happened to him. I recommend it!
Sentences ran on and on. Stopped reading due to that.
